Cristal
Our treated CRISTAL paneling retains its natural color. Its unobtrusive perfection speaks openly, yet still offers additional protection against environmental factors. The silk gloss finish gives its surface more sheen than that of untreated paneling.

The open-pore coating based on natural wax is completely harmless to health in compliance with BAG (Swiss Federal Office for Public Health Standard) and EN 71 (European Standard for the safety of toys), and is resistant to saliva and perspiration as set out in German Standard DIN 53160. This applies of course equally to our white pigmented POLARIS and TREND paneling.
Polaris
Our POLARIS paneling with its semitransparent white silk gloss finish has set new standards in interior decor. And this is no wonder. This product is a perfect union of carefully selected, virtually flawless wood with a top grade wax-base solvent-free surface finish. Even sunlight has no impact on this protective treatment. Long-term tests carried out under official supervision with 1200 hours of exposure to ultraviolet rays resulted in only faint discoloration of the underlying wood, but not of the finish.

POLARIS paneling is also ideal for use in damp rooms. The same applies equally to our CRISTAL and TREND paneling.
Untreated
Wood is a living natural material. It reacts when exposed to the elements, such as heat, dampness and direct sunlight. Every species of wood differs from every other species in the way it reacts. These individual properties of timber varieties are made use of in building applications and must be taken into account when they are treated. We therefore recommend a strongly pigmented wood finish for exterior use. It is very important that the wood you use comes from a good address.

With 210 years of experience in working with wood, Balteschwiler has acquired a very accurate knowledge of the diverse properties of timber varieties. We know how different woods must be sawn, planed, treated and generally taken good care of. Balteschwiler is very aware of its responsibilities, not only to customers but also to the environment, and therefore only raw material from selected, best quality sources is processed. This timber stems from PEFC-certified, environmentally appropriate and sustainably managed forests.
